Job summary

Shelter House is seeking a Residential Coordinator to provide 24-hour awake coverage and supervision for a 50-bed shelter serving single adults in Alexandria, VA. You will act as the first point of contact for client needs and support, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment.

Daily duties include crisis intervention, front desk operations, log documentation, and collaboration with Case Managers to uphold service plans and privacy.

Qualifications

• Experience in shelter operations or front desk coordination preferred.
• Ability to manage crisis and maintain calm under pressure.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential 24-hour awake coverage and supervision in a 50-bed shelter.
• Serve as first point of contact for client needs and support.
• Monitor check-in, front desk calls, and general inquiries.
• Document incidents and interactions in the shelter log.
• Coordinate with Case Managers to support client service plans.
• Maintain shelter documentation in line with policies.
