Job summary

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience in human services field (e.g., mental health, homelessness, DV).
• Ability to build strong working relationships with clients and team members.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends when needed.
• Preferred: Bachelor's in human services/related field.
• Experience in residential or homeless services preferred.
• Current CPR/First aid certification (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour awake coverage and supervision for an emergency shelter.
• Monitor front desk, check-ins, calls, and inquiries.
• Perform rounds of building inside and outside.
• Update daily log documenting interactions and events.
• Collaborate with case managers to support client service plans.
• Complete shift exchanges and report daily activities for continuity.
• Ensure Shelter House log documentation complies with agency policies.
• Distribute basic needs items and manage donations.
• Conduct weekly unit inspections (and twice-weekly as needed).
• Maintain client confidentiality and safety procedures.
• Respond to emergencies and evacuations; knowledge of procedures.
• Utilize Google Suites and Microsoft products in daily work.
