Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program is seeking a part-time remote Crisis Support Specialist to work weekends 8a-8pm. The role handles weekend calls from the answering service to provide support, answer questions, address comments, and respond with appropriate actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work or behavioral sciences.
• 1 year of youth services experience, preferably with direct experience in child welfare or foster care.
• Ability to stay alert after-hours; excellent listening and speaking skills.
• Proficient with desktop/laptop computers, internet search, and basic software tools.

Responsibilities

• Handle weekend inbound calls from the answering service to provide support and guidance.
• Gather information for incident reports from foster parents and notify custodial agencies as needed.
• Assess service recipient and community partner needs; coordinate with custodial agencies and foster parents for placements.
• Provide telephone support to callers and inform on-call staff of incidents requiring regional intervention.
• Manage after-hours placement referrals; document all interventions and complete placement paperwork.
• Notify referral sources about referral outcomes and ensure Medicaid documentation when applicable.
