Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program is seeking a part-time remote Crisis Support Specialist to provide weekend coverage 8am-8pm. You will take after-hours calls from the answering service, offer supportive guidance, gather information, and document incidents to ensure timely, appropriate actions.

The role supports families served by NYAP across regions, with competitive hourly pay and benefits such as loan repayment, time off, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or related field.
• Experience in youth services or child welfare preferred.
• Ability to stay alert and coordinate after-hours calls.

Responsibilities

• Handle weekend inbound calls from the answering service and provide support.
• Gather information for incident reports and notify custodial agencies as needed.
• Assess service recipient needs and coordinate placements with custodial agencies and foster parents.
• Provide telephone support and de-escalation during crises.
• Log data and document interventions and placements for reporting.
• Complete Medicaid documentation when applicable.
