Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Weekend Controls Technician to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on production machines, including PLC controls. The role trains on day shift for up to 2 months before transitioning to a weekend schedule.

Compensation starts at $27/hr with a $3 shift differential. Benefits include health insurance from day one, PTO, holidays, and a company-funded well-being account. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a closely related role.
• Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
• Enterprise Asset Management software experience and ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Observe functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems and the need for service, repair and/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
• Proficiently use ladder logic programming with experience in the Allen Bradley platform based programming, including RS Logix 500 and 5000.
• Work efficiently with workorder system (EAM) to document repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the plant.
• Traces problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discusses performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
• Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Checks newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Use basic Servo Controls (open and closed loop systems) and set up variable frequency drive operations and parameters.
• Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on Servo motors, brushed DC motors, and Induction motors.
• Works closely with the Custom Equipment Process Group (CEPG) on machine improvements.
• Will have the skills to properly use a digital multimeter.
• Works closely with maintenance and is able to assist with troubleshooting electrical problems and able to provide PLC-support across the plant.
• Concisely and accurately documents set-points and parameters for equipment.
