Job summary

Marvin Windows and Doors is seeking a Weekend Controls Technician to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on production equipment, including PLC controls. The role requires PLC experience with Allen-Bradley RSLogix and EAM documentation, with training on day shift before moving to weekend nights.

Qualifications

• 2-years experience in a closely related role is required.
• Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
• Enterprise Asset Management software experience and ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite programs proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Observe functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems and the need for service, repair and/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
• Proficiently use ladder logic programming with Allen-Bradley RSLogix 500/5000.
• Work efficiently with the EAM system to document repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Trace problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discuss performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
• Maintain backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Check newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Set up basic servo controls and adjust VFD operations and parameters.
• Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on servo motors, DC motors, and induction motors.
• Collaborate with CEPG on machine improvements.
• Use a digital multimeter for measurements.
• Provide PLC-support across the plant.
