Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Weekend Controls Technician at our Kansas City, KS facility to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC problems on production machines. The role trains on the day shift for up to 2 months before transitioning to a Weekend shift.

Work Fri-Sun 6:00am-6:00pm, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus, health insurance from day one, and a comprehensive benefits package including a 401(k) match and profit sharing.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a related role.
• Associate degree in a technical field strongly preferred.
• Ability to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
• Experience with Enterprise Asset Management software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Observe functioning of equipment to detect hazards and service needs.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and PLC issues on production machines.
• Document repairs and preventative maintenance in the plant using EAM.
• Set up servo controls, VFD operations and monitor system performance.
• Collaborate with CEPG on machine improvements.
• Maintain PLC backups and assist with troubleshooting plant-wide electrical problems.

Job Overview

The Weekend Controls Technician will assume advanced tasks relating to the production machines and will troubleshoot all electrical and Mechanical problems on equipment, including PLC controls. This position is responsible foranalyzing equipment to troubleshoot problems and making any necessary repairs to electrical,mechanicalor PLC programming changes related to production reliability.

Friday - Sunday 6:00am - 6:00pm

Highlights of your role

• Observesfunctioningof installed equipment to detecthazards ,problems and the need for service,repairand/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
• Proficiently use ladder logic programming with experience in the Allen Bradleyplatform basedprogramming, including RS Logix 500 and 5000.
• Work efficiently withworkorder system (EAM) to document repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the plant.
• Traces problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discusses performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
• Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Checks newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Use basic Servo Controls (open and closed loop systems) and set up variable frequencydriveoperations and parameters.
• Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on Servo motors, brushed DC motors, and Induction motors.
• Works closely with the Custom Equipment Process Group (CEPG) on machine improvements.
• Will have the skills toproperly usea digital multimeter.
• Works closely with maintenance andis able toassistwith troubleshooting electrical problems and able to providePLC-supportacross the plant.
• Concisely and accuratelydocumentsset-pointsand parameters for equipment.
