Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories SRMC location is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist to join our team. The role supports independent work, multiple modalities, and on-call duties with weekend shifts. Compensation is based on the number of modalities performed, with a paid apprenticeship option for newcomers.

Regular in-person attendance during scheduled hours is essential, and the position offers growth through certification and training within a large NM laboratory network.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintains supplies and inventory necessary to perform departmental functions.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Exhibits basic problem solving skills to ensure exceptional customer and patient care service levels.
• Responsible for hospital communication responsibilities as assigned, including on-call responsibilities during scheduled hours by location.
• Demonstrates effective telephone and verbal communication skills.
• Actively demonstrates professional judgment when dealing with clients, patients and co-workers.
• Perform clerical functions as needed by the department, including documentation of critical communication such as call-ins in the absence of a supervisor.
• Participate in coverage for holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed or required.
