Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant Phlebotomist to work with minimal supervision and perform multiple modalities as needed. Compensation varies with modalities performed and experience. Paid apprenticeship may be considered for candidates without experience.

In-person attendance is essential during scheduled hours. The role includes on-call responsibilities, holiday coverage, and weekend shifts as required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• PBT ASCP or equivalent certification, completion of a relevant Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program is preferred.
• Immunization requirements: Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination or waiver; PPD test within 90 days prior to hire or completed through TriCore.
• Direct patient contact departments require rubella, rubeola, and varicella immunity.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintains supplies and inventory for department functions.
• Observe students and new staff as needed.
• Demonstrates professional judgment when dealing with clients, patients, and coworkers.
• Handles on-call responsibilities during scheduled hours as assigned.
• Performs clerical functions and documents critical communications in the absence of a supervisor.
• Maintains confidentiality of information.
