Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories in New Mexico is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant Phlebotomist who can work independently with minimal supervision at SRMC. The role involves phlebotomy across modalities and requires maintaining confidentiality.

Regular in-person attendance is essential, and apprenticeship options may be available for candidates without prior experience, as multiple modalities and on-call expectations are involved.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred PBT ASCP or equivalent certification.
• Completion of a Clinical Lab Assistant or related program.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties professionally and courteously.
• Maintains supplies and inventory for department.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Apply basic problem solving to ensure patient care.
• Handle hospital communications including on-call duties.
• Demonstrate effective telephone and verbal communication.
• Use professional judgment with clients, patients, coworkers.
• Perform clerical tasks including documenting critical communications.
• Maintain confidentiality of position and data.
• Participate in on-call coverage to meet service levels.
• Support coverage for holidays/evenings/weekends as required.
• Basic PC skills.
