Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant Phlebotomist to work independently with minimal supervision in a hospital setting. Compensation depends on modalities performed; weekend and on-call shifts are required.

A HS diploma or equivalent and relevant lab training are essential, with potential apprenticeship for those with less experience. Regular in-person attendance during scheduled hours is essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred ASCP or equivalent certification.
• Completion of a relevant Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Exhibits basic problem solving to ensure customer and patient care.
• Handles hospital communications and on-call responsibilities during scheduled hours.
• Demonstrates effective telephone and verbal communication.
• Maintains confidentiality of information.
• Participates in on-call coverage and holiday/weekend scheduling as needed.
• Performs clerical duties including documenting critical communication when supervision is unavailable.
