Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Patient Care Assistant/Unit Administrative Assistant (PCA/UAA) for a 7a–7p shift on Saturday and Sunday. The role supports the interprofessional team with basic nursing assistant tasks and patient care under licensed nurse supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA/CMA/PCA experience preferred, and strong English communication. This is a non-exempt, part-time position with emphasis on patient-centered care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• CNA/CMA/PCA experience or training is preferred.
• Proficient computer application skills and medical terminology knowledge are required.

Responsibilities

• Answers unit telephone calls and transfers as appropriate.
• Greet patients and visitors; provide directions and information.
• Assist with basic ADL tasks under nurse supervision.
• Coordinate calls to physicians and office staff; assist with bed management.
• Document care and communicate with interprofessional team.
