Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED or technical skills/training appropriate to the specialty area.
• Certification: CNA or CMA; nursing students may be exempt of certification in certain cases.
• BLS certification from a hospital-based American Heart Association approved program.
• EKG and/or Phlebotomy competency validation within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care activities under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Collaborate with charge nurse and staff nurses to meet patient care needs.
• Demonstrate competence in medical terminology, communication, organization, and computer skills.
• Maintain patient safety and demonstrate professional effectiveness.
