Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital is seeking a Part Time Weekend Patient Access Representative for the Main Hospital Imaging location in Charlottesville. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Associates or Bachelor's degree can be considered in lieu of two years of experience
• Customer Service OR Data Entry - 2 years (Required)
• Demonstrated proficiency in computer keyboarding skills (Required)
• Knowledge of third-party payers, ICD-9/ CPT coding and medical terminology (Preferred)
• Interpersonal skills
• Proper grammar, spelling and punctuation

Responsibilities

• Register patients by verifying identity and selecting the correct patient record.
• Review schedules and physician orders to register the patient for the appropriate service.
• Scan insurance cards, IDs, Living Wills and POAs; enter demographics and insurance info in EHR.
• Explain and complete regulatory and compliance documents; protect privacy.
• Explain and collect co-pays and balances; process transactions securely.
• Greet patients and families; answer questions; guide to service areas.
• May perform scheduling, pre-admission and discharge duties; provide updates to families.
