Job summary

Miami Valley Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Specialist for weekends and part-time scheduling. The role requires 12-hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, with rotating holidays and 48 hours every two weeks.

Responsibilities include financial counseling, co-pay collection, and patient registration in the ADT system. The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of related experience, high school diploma, and preferred credentials in medical terminology.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (minimum)
• Associates Degree in healthcare or related business field preferred
• Medical Terminology certification preferred
• 1–3 years of job-related experience, preferably in patient access or hospital setting
• Experience in customer service and medical office/clinic or insurance environment is preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide financial counseling and collect co-pays and deductibles
• Register patients (ADT) and schedule appointments, collecting and entering demographic/financial data
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain pre-certifications when applicable
• Explain hospital financial policies and arrange payment plans or financial assistance when appropriate
• Maintain patient confidentiality and high standard of customer service with physicians, offices, patients and staff
