MedStar Health is seeking a Patient Access Associate I for weekends at Montgomery Medical Center. This part-time role supports patient registration, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification while delivering strong customer service in a healthcare setting.

The position requires a high school diploma (or GED) and 1–2 years of customer service or patient registration experience, with CHAA certification preferred. Hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 3:00pm to 11:30pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years Customer service experience required.
• 1-2 years Patient registration experience preferred.
• 1-2 years Hospital experience or healthcare setting preferred.
• CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate CHAA certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Contributes to department goals and adheres to policies and safety standards.
• Receives and answers telephone calls; schedules and confirms appointments.
• Creates encounters and collects patient information for requested services.
• Greet and review information with patient upon arrival.
• Collects and verifies patient demographic and insurance information.
• Verifies insurance eligibility via EHR, phone, or websites.
• Informs patients of payment options including plans and financial assistance.
• Collects documents and communicates payment requirements for co-pays and deductibles.
• Follows patient identification and hand-off procedures.
• Attends system Patient Access meetings.
