Job summary

Samaritan Hospital is seeking a part-time Registration Associate to support weekend and holiday rotation. You will welcome patients, register for outpatient and inpatient services, verify insurance, and provide financial counseling to ensure a seamless healthcare experience from arrival.

Prerequisites include a high school diploma, 1 year of customer service, and HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA certification within one year of hire. Two-week training Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm.

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service experience.
• HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and families with professionalism, empathy, and a service-first mindset.
• Register patients efficiently and accurately for outpatient and inpatient services.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications.
• Collect patient financial responsibility payments and explain benefits and coverage in an easy-to-understand manner.
• Serve as a trusted resource for patients, physician offices, and hospital departments.
• Utilize multiple systems and technology platforms to support patient access functions.
• Help improve patient experiences by identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, payer guidelines, and organizational policies.
