Job summary

ATI is seeking a CNC Machinist/Machine Operator in Appleton, WI for a weekend night shift (Friday–Sunday, 5pm–5am). You will operate vertical turning centers and work with state-of-the-art equipment to produce aerospace components in a climate-controlled shop.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of transferrable experience, strong machining principles, and the ability to read drawings and measurements. Join a high-performing team and ensure parts meet customer specifications.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a transferrable industry with transferrable skills.
• Basic reading, math, and measurement comprehension. The ability to read instructions, and perform simple measurements is critical.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent, Vo-Tech Certificate or associate degree in electrical, mechanical or related curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets dimension drawings, sketches, tool setup sheets and manufacturing instructions for performing required machining operation and setups.
• Uses operating drawings to determine required dimensions, travels and tolerance to be maintained.
• Oversees and controls the operation of machining centers in the machining of forgings made from various types of super alloys with full support of engineering and programming departments.
• Uses precision measuring devices furnished by the company, such as micrometers, dial indicators, Vernier scales and gauges to check dimensions and surface finishes.
• Lifts and unloads pieces using an overhead hoist.
• Exercises care in handling material before and after the machining operation.
