Job summary

RTX, a leader in aerospace and defense, is seeking candidates for a weekend shift (Friday–Sunday, 6:00am–6:30pm) in North Berwick, ME. The role trains individuals with little or no machining background to become Certified Operators through a 3-week training and 4–8 weeks of on-the-job training, learning NC milling/grinding, lathes, and precision inspection.

Salary ranges from $17.13 to $30.10 per hour, with a good-faith estimate reflecting experience and location.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience.
• Ability to perform computations involving decimals and fractions.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes or VTC’s to perform routine production operations.
• Learn to verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
• Learn to maintain machines by performing required total preventive maintenance (TPM).
• Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel to resolve machining problems.
