Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, part of RTX, seeks a trainee CNC Operator for a 2nd shift in North Berwick, ME. The role trains individuals with little or no machining background through a 3-week training program and 4–8 weeks of on-the-job training to become a certified operator.

Responsibilities include learning NC milling/grinding, interpreting operation sheets, and ensuring parts meet specifications using precision instruments. This is an onsite role with FAA safety testing requirements.

Qualifications

• You Must Have High School or GED.
• We Prefer 0-1 years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience.
• Ability to make computations involving decimals and fractions.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines and related equipment.
• Learn to work from operation sheets and travelers to set up equipment for grinding, turning, facing, boring and chamfering operations.
• Learn to verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
• Learn to maintain machines by performing total preventive maintenance (TPM).
• Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel to resolve machining problems.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
