Job summary

RTX is hiring for an onsite Weekend Shift Operator in Maine. This entry-level role trains you to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines and related equipment, with a 3-week training program and 4-8 weeks on-the-job training. You will work Friday–Sunday, 6:00am–6:30pm, 36 hours paid as 40 hours, with opportunities to earn a certification as an operator.

Starting pay ranges from $17.13 to $30.10 per hour, with comprehensive benefits, paid time off, and a bonus plan. U.S.

Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience.
• Ability to make computations involving decimals and fractions.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines, vertical turret lathes or VTCs to perform routine production operations.
• Verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
• Maintain machines by performing total preventive maintenance (TPM).
• Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel to resolve machining problems.
