Job summary

RTX's Pratt & Whitney team in Wells, ME is hiring for a Weekend Shift Certified Operator track. You will attend a 3-week training program, then 4-8 weeks of on-the-job training, learning to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines and associated equipment.

This onsite role runs Fri-Sun, 6:00am-6:30pm (36 hours paid as 40). The program targets candidates with little to no machining background and offers a pathway to operator certification and career progression within aerospace

Qualifications

• High School or GED.
• 1+ years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience.
• Ability to compute decimals and fractions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate NC milling or grinding machines.
• Work from operation sheets and part travelers to prepare equipment.
• Verify conformance with precision measuring tools.
• Obtain operator Certification to accept/reject parts.
• Perform TPM to maintain machines.
• Collaborate with engineers and QA to resolve machining issues.
