MercyOne Health System is seeking a part-time Lab Assistant in Des Moines, IA, to support laboratory departments by collecting, processing, analyzing, and reporting tests required for patient care.

The role includes venipunctures and specimen handling across age groups, with emphasis on accuracy, data integrity, and safety. Weekend day shift 8am-8:30pm, joining a collaborative team within MercyOne Health System.

Competenze

• Laboratory experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

Mansioni

• Perform venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks appropriate to patient age.
• Register and log specimens in the LIS and ensure proper labeling and documentation.
• Assist in processing specimens and supporting laboratory departments to ensure accurate tests and timely reporting.
• Follow safety, infection control and chemical-handling procedures.
