Qualifications

• Venipuncture and specimen collection

• Ability to use LIS and enter data correctly

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks appropriate to patient age
• Accepts specimens and requisitions and manages add-on orders
• Identifies patients and specimens with two identifiers and labels correctly
• Registers and logs specimens in LIS and ensures documentation
• Performs specimen processing per protocols and supports documentation
• Assists in resolving problematic specimens and orders with staff
• Follows safety and infection control procedures and supports efficient workflow
