Job summary

Pembroke Hospital is seeking a Part Time Intake Coordinator to join the admissions team on weekends. This role supports patient referrals, collects demographic, clinical and insurance information, and works to facilitate admissions with care and efficiency.

The position is 24 hours per week, 2pm to 10:30pm, with every-other-weekend coverage. Ideal candidates have strong communication skills, comfort with insurance terminology, and a compassionate approach to behavioral health settings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1+ years of prior work experience in inpatient behavioral health admissions preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and phone skills; ability to understand financial and insurance terminology.

Responsibilities

• Completes the intake call sheet on all referrals, including inpatient as appropriate.
• Gathers demographic, clinical and financial information on call sheet.
• Ensures information is accurate and complete as call sheet is transmitted to hospital staff.
• Requests evaluation from ESP/ED/Referrer as appropriate.
• Assists Intake Coordinators when requested in interpretation of lab values and diagnostic testing.
• Notifies units of pending admissions in a timely manner.
