Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is seeking a Fitter/Welder for a weekend shift in El Dorado, KS. The role involves welding steel, metal, and aluminum components to spec from blueprints and layouts, using GMAW, FCAW, and SAW processes.

You’ll be responsible for tack welding, fitting, and fabrication on the pole assembly line with safety as a priority. The position offers an hourly starting wage of $27.11 plus a $1.00 shift differential, with 36 hours worked but paid for 40.

Qualifications

• Ability to read weld symbols and understand blueprints.
• Experience with GMAW welding on steel, metal and aluminum.
• Able to pass weld test and maintain certification.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to use overhead cranes and read measurements precisely.

Responsibilities

• Follow fit and layout instructions from detailed drawings.
• Tack weld material into place and fit parts.
• Operate grinders, buffers, drills to prepare surfaces for welding.
• Move and hold material with cranes during assembly.
• Fabricate or repair products according to blueprints and work orders.
