Valmont Industries, Inc. in Columbus, Nebraska is seeking a Welder to join our team. You will weld metal components to fabricate or repair products from blueprints, layouts, and work orders, using brazing and arc/gas welding equipment.

The role requires reading blueprints, layout and fit-up, with a focus on safety and quality. We offer a weekend shift, 12-hour days, and training followed by a 4-hour attendance pay for 36 hours completed.

Qualifications

• Must have weld experience – MIG preferred.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Must excel in a team environment.
• Ability to read and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate with coworkers positively.
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment.
• Maintain production, quality and attendance per management.

Responsabilités

• Read blueprints and layouts to fit parts for welding.
• Lay out marks on metal parts and cut with a torch.
• Weld structural components for poles, substations and related structures.
• Adjust welding equipment to prescribed settings.
• Move pole shafts with an overhead crane and gather parts.
• Wear PPE and follow safety policies at all times.
• Perform duties as directed by leadership and management.
• Participate in department safety and maintain good safety practices.
