Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in El Dorado, Kansas is seeking a Machine Operator responsible for setup and operation of equipment including a straightener, cutting equipment, and a press brake to form products and size poles to final dimensions.

You will work Friday through Sunday, 36 hours paid for 40, with a starting wage of $22.68 per hour. The role involves PPE, outdoor/non-temperature controlled environments, safety-focused operations and reports to the Production Supervisor.

Qualifications

• The ability to calculate simple mathematics and interpret shop drawings.
• The ability to become Valmont trained and certified in overhead crane operation.
• The ability to read a tape measure.
• The ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• The ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with most frequent lift up to 20 pounds.
• The ability to work in a team environment with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up machine, including setting rollers to lengths and verifying dimensions from shop drawings.
• Observe operation and verify conformance of machined work to specs and blueprints.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
• Use overhead crane to load/unload machinery.
• Wear PPE and work in non-temperature controlled environments and outdoors.
• Participate in department safety and report to Production Supervisor.
