Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in El Dorado, KS, is hiring for a 2nd shift Machine Operator. You will set up and operate equipment to form and finish pole shafts, read blueprints, and ensure dimensions meet specifications.

You will work 4:00 pm–2:30 am, M-Th, with a starting wage of $22.68/hr plus a $1.50 shift differential, and you will be part of a safety-focused manufacturing team at a Fortune 1000 company committed to moving the world forward.

Qualifications

• Ability to calculate simple mathematics and interpret shop drawings.
• Ability to become Valmont trained and certified in the operation of an overhead crane.
• Read a tape measure.
• Read blueprints and specifications.
• Lift up to 50 pounds, with most frequent lift up to 20 pounds.
• Work in a team environment with a diverse group of people.

Responsibilities

• Set up machine including setting rollers to specified lengths and verifying dimensions from shop drawings.
• Observe operation and verify conformance of machined work to specs, sheet and blueprint data.
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
• Use overhead crane to load/unload machinery.
• Wear all required PPE and work in non-temperature controlled environments and outdoors.
• Other duties as required and/or assigned.
