Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Dockmaster to lead dock operations, coordinating trailer movements and yard flow to support daily priorities.

This hands-on leadership role partners with operations, transportation, safety, and customer teams while modeling accountability and service excellence. The ideal candidate has warehouse or distribution experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse/distribution environments.
• Ability to coordinate dock or yard activities in a fast-paced operation.
• Knowledge of trailer docking, release procedures, and trailer anatomy.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and varied terrain.
• Follow defined processes, safety standards, and escalation protocols.
• Strong communication skills for customer-facing and cross-functional interactions.
• Comfort with MS Office 365 and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Champion operation safety and support dock-related equipment.
• Coordinate loading/unloading dock activities and trailer movements.
• Manage docking, release, and yard flow according to safety standards.
• Monitor dock conditions and escalate issues when needed.
• Collaborate with site operations, transportation, yard services, and customers.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure dock activities align with guidelines and SWIs.
• Support 7S workplace standards and dock/yard organization.
• Perform regular visual inspections and identify risks or delays.
• Use Office 365 and Google Suite to track activity and document issues.
• Provide coverage to site leadership and peers as needed.
