Job summary

IGH L Inc. in New York state is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to serve as a role model for individuals with developmental disabilities.

The DSP will provide hands-on assistance with ADLs, supervise self-care routines, and promote safety, nutrition, and daily living skills. Responsibilities include administering medications per certification, guiding activities, and documenting care while coordinating with the Residential department to support a positive quality of life for

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid NYS Driver’s license required.
• SCIP, Adult CPR and AMAP certifications to be completed within 6 months of hire to maintain program eligibility.
• Experience with ADL and group activities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers medication as per certification.
• Encourages choice making and uses redirection techniques.
• Supervises and assists with self-care routines and daily living activities.
• Keeps accurate logs and records for nursing, medication, and incident reports.
• Provides transportation for community activities and medical appointments.
• Attends staff meetings and ongoing training.
