Job summary

Friendship Community Care, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join an interdisciplinary team and help clients with daily living skills in home and community settings.

You will support activities, monitor health and safety, and promote dignity and respect in all interactions. The role requires documenting progress, providing transportation when needed, following medication guidelines, and maintaining records per HIPAA and FCC policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or two+ years' experience with developmentally disabled individuals.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist Clients in basic living skills and daily personal tasks (e.g., showers, dressing, meals).
• Provide transportation to activities and appointments as needed; driver’s license required.
• Maintain communication with staff about client needs and progress.
• Complete required documentation (Behavioral Reports, Incident Reports, etc.) per FCC guidelines.
• Follow Plan of Care to ensure health, safety, and security.
• Assist in medication management and monitoring per guidelines.
• Organize recreational activities and promote respectful, dignified interactions.
• Maintain FCC facilities and vehicles; ensure cleanliness and preventive maintenance.
• Attend training and continue education; comply with HIPAA policies.
