Job summary

Friendship Community Care, Inc. is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work with clients in home and community settings. You will assist with daily living tasks, organize activities, and transport participants to appointments, while documenting progress and maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license. You will join an interdisciplinary team ensuring safety, respect, and quality care for clients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 2+ years' experience with developmentally disabled individuals.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence.
• Good mathematical, computer, and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living tasks: showers, dressing, housekeeping, meals, budgeting.
• Provide transportation to activities and appointments; drive as needed.
• Maintain communication via logs and meetings; document progress and plans.
• Complete behavioral, incident, and progress reports; ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Follow medication management guidelines and monitor procedures.
• Organize recreational activities; model respectful behavior and dress code.
• Maintain facilities, grounds, and vehicles; assist with maintenance forms.
• Attend training and continue education; protect confidentiality at all times.
