Job summary

Friendship Community Care, Inc. seeks a Direct Support Professional to join an interdisciplinary team delivering high-quality care in home and community settings. You will assist with daily living tasks, transportation, and documentation while following each client’s Plan of Care.

The role emphasizes safety, confidentiality, and respectful interaction with clients and families; a GED/HS diploma and driver’s license are required, with ongoing training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or 2+ years working with developmentally disabled individuals).
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to assist with daily living activities and caregiving tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living skills (bathing, dressing, housekeeping, meals, budgeting).
• Provide transportation to activities/appointments as needed, using a valid Arkansas Driver’s License.
• Maintain clear documentation in logs, reports and required forms.
• Report incidents or emergencies to supervisors promptly.
• Follow Plan of Care and medication management guidelines.
• Engage clients in recreational activities and model appropriate behavior.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Attend required training and maintain records as needed.
