Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Weekend Controls Technician to join our Kansas City-area team. The role involves troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and PLC issues on production equipment, with emphasis on Allen Bradley PLCs and RS Logix platforms.

You will document repairs, assist with PLC support, and collaborate with CEPG on machine improvements. The position trains on day shift for up to 2 months before transitioning to the Weekend shift, with a Friday–Sunday schedule from 6:00am to 6:00pm.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a closely related role is required.
• Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
• Experience with Enterprise Asset Management software and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Observe functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems, and the need for service, repair and/or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
• Proficiently use ladder logic programming with Allen Bradley RSLogix 500 and 5000.
• Work efficiently with the EAM workorder system to document repairs and preventive maintenance throughout the plant.
• Trace problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Discuss performance issues and improvement ideas with pertinent technical staff.
• Maintains backups of programs from all electrical devices.
• Check newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Use basic Servo Controls (open and closed loop) and set up VFDs and parameters.
• Perform basic motor operation and troubleshooting on Servo, DC, and Induction motors.
• Work with CEPG on machine improvements.
• Document set-points and parameters concisely and accurately.
