Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Weekend Controls Technician to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems on production equipment in an air-conditioned Kansas City facility. The role involves using Allen-Bradley RSLogix, documenting repairs in the EAM system, and supporting machine reliability.

The position starts on day shift for up to 2 months before transitioning to a weekend shift. A sign-on bonus applies.

Qualifications

2-years experience in a closely related role is required.
Associate’s degree in a technical-related field is strongly preferred.
Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses.
Enterprise Asset Management software experience and ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite programs proficiently.

Responsibilities

Observe installed equipment to detect hazards, problems and need for service, repair or replacement of electrical and mechanical components.
Proficiently use ladder logic programming with Allen Bradley RS Logix 500/5000.
Document repairs and preventive maintenance in the work order system (EAM).
Trace problems using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
Discuss performance issues and improvement ideas with technical staff.
Maintain backups of programs for electrical devices.
Check new equipment to evaluate performance under operating conditions.
Set up servo controls, open/closed loop systems and VFD parameters.
Perform motor operation and troubleshooting on servo, DC and induction motors.
Collaborate with CEPG on machine improvements and provide PLC support.
Concisely document set-points and parameters.
