Job summary

Kollmorgen, part of Regal Rexnord, Radford, VA, seeks a Machinist for a weekend shift (Fri–Sun, 12‑hour). Operate CNC lathes and mills, set up fixtures, and inspect parts to maintain tight tolerances. Strong blueprint reading, math, and independence required.

Role demands collaboration with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure quality and productivity. Onsite role with standard benefits provided by Regal Rexnord.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Machine Technology or related field or equivalent experience; 5+ years in machining is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications; maintain tight tolerances.
• Strong math skills for geometry and measurements.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with CNC programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CNC lathes and milling machines for precision parts.
• Set up machines, fixtures, and tooling for production.
• Interpret blueprints and specs to determine machining methods.
• Select tooling, feeds, and speeds for operations.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections for tolerance.
• Maintain tight tolerances and dimensional accuracy on complex parts.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and identify defective materials.
• Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure product quality.
• Design or modify fixtures and tooling to support production and special needs and maintain equipment and cleanliness.
