Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Program Coordinator to plan, organize, and direct structured therapeutic activities for patients on a designated unit. The role supports pediatrics to geriatrics, collaborating with nursing leadership to maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu.

The candidate will lead programming, coordinate with families and physicians, and ensure adherence to HIPAA and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling psychology or related health field (required).
• In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 5 years clinical experience specific to unit, program and field.
• Master’s degree in counseling psychology, psychology or other behavioral health degree (preferred).
• Active driver’s license authorization (if required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the AHA (required).
• Facility determined crisis intervention training program (required).

Responsibilities

• Monitors therapeutic milieu to identify need to initiate structured interventions and advocate for patient rights.
• Provides leadership and guidance to unit staff regarding programming and interventions.
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment and de-escalates when needed.
• Participates in development, implementation and utilization of therapeutic milieu activities.
• Intervenes for crisis intervention or conflict resolution within the unit milieu during assigned shift.
