Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking a Weekend Composite Technician to support airframe sheet metal work in Cedar Hill, TX. The role requires basic knowledge of aircraft structures, blueprints, fastening systems, and related procedures. A High School diploma is required; A&P license is welcome but not mandatory.

You will perform drilling, riveting, cutting, sealant application, and routine shop maintenance while adhering to FAA guidelines. Driver's license or passport is advantageous for travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; A&P license not required but welcome.
• Driver's license valid for airline travel and/or valid passport ideal but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication (forming, drilling, stamping, shaping, bending, punching, cutting, riveting, filing, dimpling).

Responsibilities

• Perform basic sheet metal operations: drilling, riveting, cutting on airframe components.
• Apply and remove sealant, sound deadening and finish materials.
• Maintain, clean and repair shop facilities, equipment and tooling as needed.
• Safely operate shop equipment: brakes, presses, riveting equipment, shears, hand tools for sheet-metal functions.
• Navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases; communicate clearly in English.
