Job summary

TES Staffing seeks a detail-oriented Medical Secretary for its floating outpatient access team. The role supports our primary care network with patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and confidential record maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or medical office certification preferred.
• Previous medical office or healthcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EHR systems.
• Proficient with insurance processes and billing basics.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information per HIPAA.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients; ensure accurate intake.
• Answer calls, schedule appointments, and manage calendars.
• Verify insurance coverage, process authorizations, collect co-pays.
• Maintain patient records with HIPAA compliance.
• Prepare emails, faxes, and other medical documents.
• Assist with billing and payments as needed.
• Coordinate referrals and follow up on authorizations.
• Support staff with administrative tasks.
