Job summary

Sun Valley Resort is seeking a Wedding & Special Events Manager to lead planning, sales, and execution of weddings and special events from start to finish. You will manage full-cycle event planning for groups from 15 to 500 guests, customize proposals, negotiate contracts, and coordinate with clients and internal teams to ensure flawless execution.

The role requires strong customer service, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced resort environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in hotel sales, catering, convention services, or event planning.
• Proven experience managing corporate and social events including weddings and large functions.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Opera Sales & Catering, Delphi or comparable PMS.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle event planning for groups of 15-500 guests including weddings and corporate events.
• Customize proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage event details (menus, AV, floorplan, budgets).
• Serve as primary resort representative for assigned events and coordinate with clients and departments.
• Prepare and execute BEOs and other operational communications.
• Support billing arrangements and other services as required.
• Develop sales strategy for catering-only events during non-peak seasons.
