Duties:

Under general direction, the Web Services Manager, manages the personnel responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining web applications. Also, oversees the college’s intranet application including assessment and implementation of new capabilities. Works closely with other IT personnel to monitor day-to-day operations. Assists end-users in developing internal processes and procedures related to the use of the college’s intranet.

The Web Services Manager is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing and maintaining web applications to support and promote student success and lifelong learning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Recommends and assists the Director of Enterprise Applications & Web Services in policy and procedure, goals and objectives, budget planning, and maintenance.
Provides leadership and direction in system analysis, design and implementation of college web application systems.
Works with other Information Technology departments, and consultants (as necessary) to maintain web applications.
Develops plans and procedures for the operation of the Web Services area, including improvements in web development, online forms, accessibility and workflows.
Makes recommendations on staff, equipment, and material needs.
Trains and evaluates personnel performance and makes recommendations for the recruitment, employment, promotion, and termination of Web Services staff
Oversees the web development process to ensure that requests are completed satisfactorily in accordance with department procedures and user specifications.
Assists end-users in creating intranet content and online forms.
Translates business problems, requirements, and inquiries into projects/requests, and then assigns staff to provide the agreed upon deliverables in a timely fashion.
Uses project/request-tracking system to monitor, review, validate, and evaluate progress of tasks.
Identifies and addresses problems that could hinder the completion of requests and projects. Adjusts allocation of resources as emergency and urgent situations arise.
Keeps abreast of changes in the field and adopts innovations that lead to improvement of college web applications.
Attends conferences and seminars related to web development technology.
Assists end-users in developing internal processes and procedures related to the use of the college’s intranet.
Stays up to date with Microsoft 365 releases and product updates.
Schedules, participates in and plans project and team meetings, as needed.
Serves on college committees as directed.
Performs other related duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field required. Three to five years’ web development experience required.

Three to five years’ experience leading a technical team

Demonstrated track record of performance and achievement in web development and implementation management.

In-depth familiarity with technology applications, software and development tools, including programming languages, utilities, system design, and coding techniques

Qualifications:

Experience with the Microsoft 365/Power platform, specifically SharePoint Online and Power Apps
Working knowledge of project management techniques and the ability to manage project timelines, scopes, and deliverables
Working knowledge of web security best practices
Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG)
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Above average problem-solving skills
Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress)
Experience with API design and integration
Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

For urgent matters, this position is noted as on call 24 hours a day – 7 days a week

$81,359-$100,000 (plus exceptional benefits)
