Job summary

New York Power Authority's Project Delivery division seeks a Project Engineer to lead and execute revitalization projects for the Erie Canal, including water control structures, dam rehabilitation, and public spaces. The role carries high accountability with a provisional appointment not to exceed three years and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Energy Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years' experience including 3 years in Project/Construction Management.
• Experience in utility, commercial, or related mechanical/electrical industries.
• New York State Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Design Build Institute of America certification preferred.
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred.
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all stages of the project lifecycle from initiation to close out.
• Coordinate internal and external resources for project activities.
• Ensure licensing, environmental, permitting, safety, code compliance involvement.
• Develop design documents, budgets, forecasts, bid documents, and award recommendations.
• Coordinate contract changes, invoicing, and construction sequencing.
• Review project documentation and mentor junior engineers.
