Job summary

The New York Power Authority is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Waterway Infrastructure team, driving revitalization of the New York State Canal System. You will lead and execute complex projects, including water control structures replacement and dam rehabilitation, with community benefits and public spaces along the Canal front.

The position is provisional for up to three years with benefits, and may require travel within New York State.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
• 6+ years of experience including 3+ in project/construction management.
• Experience in utility, canal or related mechanical/electrical industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead project management for all lifecycle stages of complex projects.
• Coordinate in-house and external resources for project activities.
• Ensure licensing, environmental, permitting, safety, and code compliance.
• Develop design documents, budgets, bids, evaluation and award recommendations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support after-hours emergencies when needed.
