Job summary

City of Atlanta is seeking a Permit Clerk to review permit applications for accuracy and compliance, coordinating with city staff and external partners.

The role requires an Associate’s degree or equivalent, 3-5 years in permitting for utilities or municipal projects, and knowledge of MicroStation or CAD-based drafting. You will manage submittals, payments, extensions, and reporting while liaising with other cities and agencies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MicroStation and CAD-based drafting for permit submittals.
• Formal and informal proficiency with computer software and written/verbal communication.
• Familiarity with municipal permit procedures and partners.

Responsibilities

• Reviews permit applications for accuracy and compliance
• Communicates with City staff, vendors, customers about permit submittal status
• Prepares, delivers and/or picks up additional permit applications
• Monitors permit duration and submits extension requests when required
• Coordinates and secures the payment method for permit applications
• Maintains network with other cities and governmental agencies
• Reviews monthly statistics and prepares operating reports
• Performs other duties related to permit submissions and related admin tasks
