Job summary

The City of Atlanta, GA is seeking an experienced Supervisor for Water Field Service to organize and oversee meter repair crews and related field work. This role requires hands-on leadership and the ability to work under established safety rules and policies.

You will supervise daily field activities, train staff, verify job completion, and coordinate with customers as needed. Prior utility maintenance experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of water meter repair and site safety requirements.
• Ability to use GIS maps, GPS systems, and meter locating equipment.
• Ability to document accounts and supervise unskilled staff effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication; diplomatic with customers.
• Ability to manage conflict and adapt to changing conditions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise water field service representatives and meter repair crews.
• Train and coach staff in curb stop repairs, meter service and related tasks.
• Ensure daily jobs are completed and documented.
• Provide input for performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Assist with customer inquiries and maintain professional service.
