Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum two years as a Utility Technician I or related role.
• Valid Driver's License; CDL within 6 months of hire may be required.
• Interim level water/wastewater operator certification required by state or acceptable alternative.
• Backflow Device Tester/Repair certification may be required.
• Must complete OSHA/industry safety trainings as applicable.
• Understand regulatory requirements and maintain compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform water and wastewater system maintenance, including inspecting and testing components.
• Inspect, install, repair, and certify water mains, meters, and hydrants.
• Inspect and service sewer lines, lift stations, and related assets; operate video equipment to identify deficiencies.
• Respond to service orders and mark utilities; provide professional customer interaction.
• Operate heavy machinery (dump trucks, Vactor, backhoe) for maintenance tasks.
• Complete work orders, forms, and records accurately and timely, in manual and digital formats.
• Read meters manually or with automated equipment; monitor system operations and alarms.
• Adhere to safety protocols and repair standards; support cross-functional teams as needed.
