Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. seeks a dedicated Utility Worker II to perform water and wastewater system maintenance on military installations.

You will inspect, repair, and operate mains, meters, hydrants, sewer lines, and lift stations under minimal supervision, reading blueprints and maps while ensuring safety. The role requires five years in the water/wastewater field, valid licenses, and ability to work with heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum five years as a Utility Worker II or in a related water industry role.
• Valid driver's license and a valid commercial driver's license are required.
• State operator certification for water and/or wastewater as applicable.
• Must complete OSHA/Army Corps safety training with annual refreshers.

Responsibilities

• Perform water and wastewater system maintenance, including quality and supply.
• Inspect, repair, replace water mains, meters, hydrants, backflow devices.
• Inspect and maintain sewer lines, lift stations, and test equipment.
• Read meters and respond to service orders; document work.
• Operate heavy machinery and complete work orders safely.
• Communicate with customers and assist with outages.
