Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. seeks a field technician to perform water and wastewater system maintenance on military installations. You’ll inspect, test, and repair water mains, meters, hydrants, and sewer lines, and respond to service orders with customer-facing professionalism.

Role requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and safety training; CDL may be required within one year. On-site work and potential heavy equipment operation are involved.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain water/wastewater training permits within 90 days.
• Must possess and keep a valid Driver’s License.
• Must be able to obtain Commercial Driver’s Permit within six months and CDL within one year.
• Must pass Federal OSHA/US Army Corps/State safety training annually.

Responsibilities

• Perform water and wastewater system maintenance under supervision.
• Inspect, install, repair, and test water mains, meters, hydrants, and backflow devices.
• Inspect, repair, replace sewer lines and lift stations; operate video equipment.
• Respond to service orders and outages; communicate with customers professionally.
• Read meters manually or with automated equipment; complete paperwork timely.
• May operate heavy machinery as required and assist with various programs.
