Job summary

American States Utility Services, Inc. is seeking a Water/Wastewater Technician to maintain and inspect water and sewer systems on federal installations across multiple states.

You will perform maintenance, inspections, and service calls, while communicating clearly with customers and following safety protocols. Role requires a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and ability to obtain permits and safety certifications within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Must understand safety practices for water/wastewater work.
• Good English reading/writing/speaking.
• Basic math skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform water and wastewater system maintenance under supervision.
• Inspect and certify water mains, meters, hydrants, and backflow devices.
• Inspect sewer lines and lift stations; operate video equipment.
• Respond to service orders and mark infrastructure locations.
• Provide professional customer support and notify customers of outages.
• Read meters manually or with automated equipment.
• Operate heavy machinery as needed for maintenance.
• Complete work orders and related paperwork.
